The SR11 is an ISO 9060 First Class pyranometer that can provide solar-radiation data for photovoltaic system performance monitoring and many other meteorological applications. It measures solar radiation with a high-quality blackened thermopile protected by two domes. The thermopile has a flat spectral response for the 285 to 3000 nm spectral range, which allows the SR11 to monitor global solar radiation, radiation within canopies or greenhouses, and albedo (reflected or incident) when two are deployed as an up-facing/down-facing pair. A desiccant-filled drying cartridge prevents dew from forming on the inner sides of the domes. Three adjusting screws and a bubble level allow sensor leveling without using a separate leveling base, simplifying installation.
