Campbell Scientific recently added the 05108 and 05108-45 Heavy-Duty Wind Monitors to our product line. To extend their service life and allow them to better survive severe winds, these new Wind Monitors have oversized ceramic bearings, oversized propeller shaft, high-pitch propeller, and locking propeller nut. The ceramic bearings have a significantly longer service life than the stainless-steel bearings and are more resistant to some types of corrosion. The 05108-45 also has a black housing with an ice-resistant coating that discourages ice build-up.
