Overview

The ENCTDR100 is a white fiberglass-reinforced polyester enclosure that protects the TDR equipment from weather, condensing humidity, and dust. With internal dimensions of 16" x 18" x 8", it can house the data logger, power supply, TDR200, and SDM8X50-N.

Note: In the image above, the ENCTDR100 is shown with the SDM8X50, PS150, TDR200, and CR1000. These items are sold separately.

Benefits and Features

  • White, UV-stabilized enclosure reflects solar radiation—reducing temperature gradients inside the enclosure without requiring a separate radiation shield

  1. The ENCTDR100 (TDR System Enclosure) includes a coaxial cable, enclosure cable, and conduit ports that enter the enclosure at the back plate level to reduce coaxial cable bending stress on the TDR100 and/or SDMX50SP equipment BNC connectors. The ENCTDR100 has enough space for a battery/regulator, data logger, TDR100, and one SDMX50SP.

The ENCTDR100 ships with the items listed in the Ships With box on the right side of this page.

  2. The TDR100 ships with the items listed in the Ships With box on the right side of this page.

In addition, consider purchasing the ENCTDR100 TDR System Enclosure. This enclosure ships with many items necessary for a TDR100 Data Acquisition System. See the Ships With box on the right side of this page.

  3. There is not an easy way to calculate how much desiccant is needed in an enclosure or how quickly the desiccant will need to be replaced. The following conditions affect the replacement interval:

    • How much humidity the enclosure is exposed to
    • The size of the enclosure
    • How often the enclosure door is opened and how long the door remains open
    • How airtight the enclosure is

It may be advantageous to use more than one desiccant packet at a time inside an enclosure. Campbell Scientific recommends keeping an extra supply of desiccant on hand for as-needed replacement in the enclosure.

  4. The desiccant should be replaced when the top colored dot on the humidity indicator card (pn 28878) turns pink; the humidity indicator card is included in the enclosure supply kit that is shipped with each enclosure. If the CS210, Enclosure Humidity Sensor, is used, replace the desiccant when the measured humidity exceeds 35%.
