Sometimes, it’s hard to let go. But if we don’t let go, we don’t have empty hands ready to embrace something new—even a data logger.
The CR1000 Measurement and Control Datalogger (introduced in 2004) has been incredibly successful with installations on every continent of our planet. It is the heart of thousands of data-acquisition systems. Over the years, the CR1000 has provided you with the flexibility that made it your go-to data-collection tool for countless research projects, as well as test and measurement applications.
While we celebrate that success, we also know that the time has come for us to say goodbye to the CR1000. We are discontinuing the CR1000, and after January 31, 2020, you will not be able to purchase this data logger.
Even though we will no longer produce the CR1000, we will still offer you support and maintenance into the future:
While we are phasing out the CR1000, we are not leaving behind a void. Rather, we are encouraging our customers to embrace the hybrid. What do we mean by this? The CR1000X is a hybrid based on the rugged design success of the CR1000 and the integration of many elements of the CR6, which was released in 2014. The CR1000X has the same proven mechanical design and mounting footprint as the CR1000, as well as similar programming instructions. Unlike the CR1000, however, the CR1000X has these additional features:
The CR1000X, a hybrid of the successful CR1000 and CR6, is the suggested replacement for the CR1000 for most of your applications. While we encourage you to embrace this hybrid, we also recognize that you may need some help making the transition. Please contact a Campbell Scientific sales engineer to select the best product for your future needs and to formulate a migration plan. We appreciate your business and the trust you’ve shown Campbell Scientific with your data-acquisition projects. We look forward to providing you with many more innovative products in the future.
