Campbell Scientific offers several different multi-day training courses for our dataloggers and software. These comprehensive courses are designed for those without much datalogger experience, or for those wanting to increase their knowledge. The courses have an emphasis on programming; see individual courses for itinerary. "Hands-on" programming exercises and course handouts are used to reinforce the concepts covered by the instructors.
Listed below is a synopsis for each course. Please register for the course that aligns with your needs.
CRBasic Datalogger/LoggerNet Training (2.3 CEUs)
This is an introductory, hands-on training course. It is intended for students from all disciplines. (See other course descriptions for discipline-specific courses.) This course is based around LoggerNet and the CRBasic datalogger. It is relevant for users that have a CR1000, CR1000X, CR6-series, CR300-series, CR3000, CR800-series, or CR200X-series datalogger.
Geotechnical and Structural Instrumentation Training (3.0 CEUs)
This course is designed for the Geotechnical and/or Structural practitioner. It is an interactive, hands-on training course using sensors, techniques, communication methods, and tools common for geotechnical and structural monitoring systems and applications. The course is based on the Campbell Scientific CR6 but will use other data loggers and devices such as the GRANITE™6, GRANITE™9, CR1000X, CRVW3, AVW200, VWAnalyzer, VOLT 108/116, VWIRE 305, and TEMP 120.
The LoggerNet software package (CRBasic, Setup, Device Configuration Utility, Network Planner, PakBus Graph) and other software tools such as ShortCut, SURVEYOR, and DVW Toolbox will be used.
Active attendee participation is expected, and attendees will have opportunities to develop application-specific data-acquisition designs with the help of classmates.
Prerequisites for the Geotechnical and Structural Instrumentation Training Course are previous experience with Campbell Scientific equipment or completion of the CRBasic Datalogger/LoggerNet Training Course.
Eddy Covariance Training (2.1 CEUs)
This course focuses on the proper use of Campbell Scientific equipment in eddy-covariance measurements. This course gives an overview of micrometeorology theory as it pertains to eddy covariance. Basic theory and assumptions used will be noted with respect to proper use and installation of eddy-covariance systems. This course uses the IRGASON, EC150/CSAT3A, and EC155/CSAT3A.
Driving Directions from SLC Airport
A self-study course is also available for training on our CR1000 datalogger. You will need a datalogger, power supply, and a PC running LoggerNet. Please contact our training coordinator for pricing and course information.
