LOGAN, Utah – In the spring of 2005, Campbell Scientific, Inc., acquired an interest in Apogee Instruments to facilitate the development of improved sensor-datalogger combinations. Apogee began in 1995 by offering a hand-held quantum meter for measuring photosynthetic radiation available to plants. Since then, the product line has expanded to include a pyranometer for measuring total radiation, an infrared radiometer for measuring the surface temperature of leaves and soils, a portable spectroradiometer, and a soil oxygen sensor.
