LOGAN, UTAH — Campbell Scientific, Inc., a global leader in measurement instrumentation, is proud to announce the celebration of its 50-year anniversary. Founded on 12 August 1974 by brothers, Eric and Evan Campbell, in Logan, Utah, Campbell Scientific has continuously pushed the boundaries of innovation, revolutionizing the field of data-acquisition instrumentation and monitoring.

From its humble beginnings in the basement of the Campbell family home with the CA-9 Path-Averaging Laser Anemometer—the first product marketed by the company—to its current position as a trusted provider of cutting-edge measurement solutions worldwide, Campbell Scientific has remained committed to excellence, quality, and customer satisfaction.

CEO, Rob Campbell, says, “Advancing science and technology has been an integral part of Campbell Scientific since the beginning. To work with scientists, researchers, and inquisitive minds throughout the world is an incredible opportunity. Our gear has helped our clients make incredibly accurate and reliable environmental and infrastructure measurements in the most challenging of conditions. From the top of Mount Everest to the depths of Death Valley, we appreciate that our clients continue to count on us when measurements really matter. We look forward to continuing to play an important role in helping humankind build a better understanding of the environment; monitor modern infrastructure (such as mines, dams, and bridges); and provide measurement systems for clean, renewable energy that our clients can count on for decades to come.”

Over the past five decades, Campbell Scientific has achieved a plethora of milestones and accolades, including:

  • Introducing the CR5 Digital Recorder in 1975, followed by the manufacturing of hundreds of thousands of data loggers to date
