CR200Series Campbell Scientific datalogger communication problem with my Laptop computer

Hello,

I am working with a CAMPBELL SCIENTIFIC CR200X Series, which we installed in our research site 11 years before (in 2013);

The data cable type that connected to a CR200X Series data logger is PL2303 USB to RS232 Adapter cable, and we downloaded the recorded data within this cable many times without any problem. The last data that we downloaded is one year before today. When I plugged the USB into my laptop, to get (download) the recorded data and to set the instrument to start a new measurement, I faced a communication problem (the data logger is not connected).

Here are the failure messages that I got:-

Failed to connect to CR200Series. Unable to communicate with the data logger

The log Error Messages also the following

  1. transaction failure", "unreachable destination", "Get Logger Program Status"
  2. delivery failure received", "timed out or resource error
  3. transaction failure", "unreachable destination", "check/set clock

Overall, my laptop failed to connect to CR200Series data logger, whenever I try it shows a dialogue box saying failed to connect to datalogger.

Does anyone experience the same issue?

Please help.

Thanks.

It is highly recommended to purchase a cable that uses a FTDI chipset. The Prolific chips have driver issues on modern versions of Windows.
